This paper, written in the spring of 2024, earned me Departmental Honors in English. It was an independent research project investigating the pedagogical practice of translating ballet terminology into English in ballet classes, explored from a linguistic perspective. This topic had long been of interest to me, and the greatest challenges in the writing processes were making the world of ballet and its terminology accessible to the reader, as well as organizing the numerous different facets of the data into a cohesive narrative.
